Steve Schultz

Steve is a Partner at Diagram working with our Fintech team. He brings over 20 years of experience as an investor and a business and product leader in the financial services industry, where he has developed expertise in fintech businesses, digital payments, and data infrastructure.

Before joining Diagram, Steve worked at Amazon on the AWS Early Stage Startups Team, where he helped seed stage entrepreneurs build and grow their startup. He also worked as a Venture Partner at F-Prime Capital where he focused on finding and partnering with innovative fintech and software businesses. Prior to that, Steve served as a strategic advisor and interim operating executive at various startups including Connect Homes, Sigfig, Finxera, Captial Preferences, Tapingo, and Reach150. He also worked as an Executive in Residence at Canvas Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on fintech investments. Previously, Steve served as the Chief Operating Officer at Check where he grew payment volume from $0 to $1B, users from 1M to 11M, and employees from 15 to 110, resulting in a $360M acquisition by Intuit. Steve started his career as a management consultant at Putnam, Hayes & Bartlett before taking on leadership roles in product management and marketing at Epiphany and Yahoo.

Steve holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from University of California, Davis.
